11/12/2023 0 Comments Hidden valley ski resort friday hoursWe never get refills of water even though we asked like four times. It takes her forever to get menus and wipe down the table. So the same eye roller finally comes over and says “ What do you want?” What a greeting? So we say we would like the table cleaned and to have dinner. So we took a table by the window which was dirty, but was open with a view. Finally the bartender said just go grab a table. A waitress just rolled her eyes at us while drinking her drink at at the drink station. We stood at the podium for quite awhile not sure if they wanted to seat us or what. The clockhouse restaurant is a nightmare also. Breakfast same thing no coffee every morning - the same guy that was to be working desk ( one who drives mini) bs with guests and doesn’t make coffee or work front desk. Not what we wanted to do since it had been snowing all day! The whole point of staying in the lodge. We almost started answering the phone that was constantly ringing. So we used the Walkie talkie sitting on the desk to call the shuttle but that didn’t work either. There was a man trying to checkin and he had been waiting a half hour with no one working the front desk. No shuttle! It finally drove by us! We walked to the lodge and found out why our calls went to the answering machine. We stood in the snowing snow for 40 minutes. However, it’s to come around every 15 minutes. We wanted to use the shuttle because the lodge is not near the slopes. The skiing was good because it had snowed. We visited on Martin Luther King weekend. If you are looking for a great place to connect with your family and really get some quality time, then Hidden Valley is definitely the place to go! We rent a condo as opposed to the lodge, but that is just because I love to cook (and I don't ski - I read and cook. I love the tranquility and family time that Hidden Valley offers. If you want the activities of bowling, pool, etc, Seven Springs is a short drive. This is not the "over the top cray drinking resort", but a super friendly, calm, quiet family resort. The ski shop is reasonably priced and they are also very helpful. Amanda in Customer Service was terrific in helping me solve an issue, and Deb, the new manager, was just as helpful. we have done both, but private was WAY more effective. I recommend the private lessons as opposed to the group lessons. This year, my 8 year old learned how to ski with a 2 hour private lesson. I can let me 12 year old take off and ski for the day, give him money for lunch, and just let him be a kid and gain confidence. Want to plan ahead for dinner?
